New Life Fellowship History
From the results of a church split on May 17, 2009 the kingdom of God multiplied in Tracy Ca. The families that left the church had not given any thought but to seek what God desires in their lives. Each family separately made plans to visit local churches with the desire to find a new church home.
Without a clear direction as to which church to attend, “Dionne asked her husband why not teach our family here at home”. The answer to that question seemed simple. Allow time for healing and direction from God. In a desire to provide healing for the church family, Pastor Patrick Williams opened his house to interested families until the families found a church home. As word spread the family attendance grew and a new location was needed to accommodate the attendees. The Mizer’s opened their home to the group and worship services began in their back yard. During the next several months God healed many hearts amid the hummingbirds, pepper and pomegranate trees while listening to God’s love shared from Pastor Patrick Williams, Pastor Dan Summa and Pastor Dennis Dearmin.
As this season of healing changed to seeking God’s direction on where to worship, many of the families approached the previous leadership in a desire to make the family worship more permanent. To insure the desires of the families were heard, a group of leaders were selected (2 women and 8 men) from a cross section of the attending families. These leaders became the Steering Committee. The Steering Committee as directed by the attending families were to act on behalf of the families to provide a more permanent place of weekly worship. The Steering committee contracted an agreement with Tablets of Hearts Ministry to provide direction and ability for tax deductable tithes for future financial requirements to benefit the attending families. Known at that time as “The Tracy Project”.
Under the direction of the attending families, the Steering Committee identified Pastor Patrick Williams as the interim pastoral leader. The stage was now set to identify the Tracy project more formally and submit applications for state and federal recognition of a not for profit church entity. By vote of the attending families a formal name for the “Tracy Project” was selected and the name of New Life Fellowship of Tracy Ca. (NLF) was adopted. Submissions for state and federal tax exemption forms were completed identifying Pastor Patrick Williams as the spiritual leader of NLF.
Tracy Unified School District was approached to identify available schools to hold worship services. George Kelly Elementary School was selected as the site for Sunday worship of NLF. During NLF’s first business meeting, the constitution and By- Laws were voted on and approved. Through God’s provision and blessing the process of incorporating and tax free status was granted completing the process of state and federal acknowledgment for New Life Fellowship not for profit Church status. New membership classes were conducted and official members of the church body were voted on and accepted by the Steering committee. From the church members of NLF, elder nominations were received and during the second business meeting of NLF, 6 Elders were ratified transferring the leadership from Steering Committee to the Elder board.
Under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Patrick Williams, associate leadership Pastor Dan Summa, and guidance of Pastor Dennis Dearmin of Tablet Of Hearts Ministries, what was once a small group of families with God’s provisions and blessing, one year later became New Life Fellowship of Tracy Ca.
